Newborn Session 

The best time to shoot a newborn is in the first 2 weeks of life. At this age they are still sleepy and we can get those sweet curled up poses as they retain some of the natural curl from mummy’s tummy.  If we are lucky, even get some sweet smiles :)  

At two weeks newborns usually hit a growth spurt and much of the session is spent feeding rather than taking pictures, so ideally we try to schedule the shoot before baby is two weeks old.

Sessions are typically between 2-4 hours because we allow plenty of time for nursing, changing and cuddling between shots.  As mothers ourselves, we appreciate the need care for your little ones, without feeling stressed or anxious.  

 Our studio is warm, bright and relaxed and your baby will always be handled safely and carefully. 
We use beautiful fabrics, with lots of textures and different colour shades.  We do encourage input so these will all be displayed along with props, for parents to view upon arrival. 

We have an enormous selection of props in our studio and whilst we do use them, our main focus is capturing your newborns natural beauty in those early fleeting moments.
Parents can take this time to sit back relax and watch TV, while we capture beautiful images of your new baby. 

We suggest that expectant mothers contact us well ahead of their due date to book a newborn session, as we take a limited amount of newborns each month.  You can contact us any time during your pregnancy and we will add you to the list of babies due that month.

It’s important to schedule your session while you are still pregnant to avoid disappointment. You can send us an email after you have your baby, and we will pick the best time that falls within first 14 days.

 *If you’d like to send out a birth announcement card shortly after the session, then please let us know on the day, as this can be done before the full gallery has been completed. 

What to Expect


Shortly before your session, we will email you with some information to help you prepare your baby for their shoot. 

As Elena is a natural light photographer, she shoots in the best natural light available during your session.

If the shoot is to take place in your home, we will need to make a set up near your biggest window.  All styles and colour details will be discussed before the session and we will bring along any props required.

If the shoot is taking place in our home studio, we will have all of the shooting areas and props ready to start the shoot as soon as you arrive and a comfortable place for parents to sit. Your email will also include our location and directions.

After Your Session


Within a few days of your shoot we will post a sneak peak on our Facebook page or Blog.
Within 1-2 weeks, you will have a fully password protected gallery to view your prepared images. Your online gallery will be available for 10 days, great  to share with family and friends.
Within 2-3 weeks your images will be fully edited and ready to view, so we will contact you to arrange a viewing appointment.  During the appointment, we will show you samples of our range of printed products and help you to choose the best products for your images.

Maternity Session 
Maternity sessions capture one of the most special times in a woman’s life, a truly wonderful memory to have. I prefer to photograph your maternity session between 32-36 weeks as that is when the belly has the best round shape, so I suggest getting in touch to book your appointment around 28 weeks.

Indoor at your home or outside at one of your favourite locations, wherever you feel most comfortable is where we shoot.
